School Delays or Cancellations
There are no delays or cancellations at this time.
In the event our area may recieve enough rain or snow to close schools, school personnel will examine road conditions for safety starting at 4am. Depending on road conditions and for the safety of students, staff and buses, the decison to close roads in the Rosamond area will be made by 6am. If schools are to be closed, the foloowing radio stations will transmit the closure information. Radio stations may announce Southern Kern Unified School District and may not mention Rosamond.
While severe fog conditions are rare in the Antelope Valley, this type of condition has occured from time to time. In the event that visibility is less than 200 feet, school closure or a delay in the start of the school, for that day, may be necessary.
This information will be relayed to the following radio stations and to the Kern County Superintendent of Schools website. It will also be available on the Southern Kern Unified School District website.
